Had an issue last week that I thought I had resolved with a new PSU but the problem is still here and was looking for a bit of help pin-pointing the fault.

Basically, whenever I start up the PC the fans/LEDs light up for a split second and then turn off. Four or five seconds later, the system will boot up as normal without me having to press the power button.

I have replaced the PSU but that hasn't resolved the problem. I've also tried running everything at stock speeds to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is yuor PSU 860, or 860i (and replacement you've tested) ? I remember there was some incompatibility between 860i PSU and some Gigabyte motherboards.
Do you have latest BIS revision ?

I've had the same CPU/MB/PSU for almost two years and the issue has only appeared, and it's the 860.

I had the latest beta BIOS about a year ago but it kept getting corrupted. I'll try it again in case it has been updated.

uhm could you check the reset pin of your bios or (CMOS)???
if its on .. and if its there is it correctly ?
also i check that the cpu .. and ram and pci cards are proberly fitted in....

I'll check that all later but the only thing that has been moved is the PSU so nothing can have been 'moved' from the slots. Even if it was the case that something wasn't seated correctly, that wouldn't allow the system to boot up at all?

I've noticed now that whenever I turn the PC off, it's taking a lot longer. The monitor turns off and the LED's on my mouse and keyboard turn off but the PC fans/LEDs will stay on for a good 10 or so seconds before finally switching off.

Could it be a faulty CPU?
