Power on / off HDD

I was wondering if anyone knows of or uses a batch command script or PowerShell script to power on and off an internal hard drive? It's only used for backups at 5pm each day so the rest of the time it might as well be off..

I can the add the batch to scheduled tasks..

I assume any batch will just be useless as Windows/Anti virus see fit to turn them on anyway for whatever reason.

Could use a batch file to mount and unmount the hard drive when needed? If you unmount, it'll then go to sleep.

Was toying with the idea myself, rather not have a backup drive connected 24/7 just incase.
