Hey 8 Pack,

Ever since I have started tweaking my overclock, i have noticed that when I power my pc on it switches of immediately then comes on again and boots normally. Im not sure if this is to do with some setting I have changed, maybe a power setting. Do you have any ideas?

Chris

Some boards do this, my Gigabyte boards used to do this, they did a BIOS update which helped.

What board are you using ?

It a clock gen full reset. Its normal. The board is doing this to train the memory and other settings of your overclock. All the high end boards do it too.

Does it happen even if you've not been adjusting bios settings? My Gigabyte P55-USB3 (i5, 760, unclocked. I know I'm a whimp) has been doing it perhaps once every couple of months since I built it (2010 ish) I assumed it's either starting to fail or a quirk of the bios/board.
