Earlier today we had a power outage had to reset the fusebox and afterwards the PC wont start it makes a noise for a fraction of a second like its trying to start but can't. Is my PSU fried? is the anything else it could be? I only recently got my PSU RMA'd because of issues so I would be disappointed if its broken again. Its a corsair 750w TX.

Doesn't sound promising for the PSU. If it wasn't doing anything I'd suggest the fuse in the plug, but it's doing something so that's out. Don't suppose you have a spare PSU you can borrow to try?

Try cmos clear first, leave out the motherboard battery for 30minutes then try

It will reset any oc tho,if no joy then it probably blew the psu I've had that happen once with a power cut

Was your Psu plugged straight into the wall socket or via a surge protection extension cable.
I have the TX750W V2, it`s plugged into a surge protection lead and I`ve had a few outages over the years, never had a problem.
The chances are your Psu is knackered but hopefully the rest of your system should be OK.

there is one thing that may be important I have upon opening the case found the mobo battery is missing according to my brother he doesn't know how long its been gone and I haven't looked inside it for months as I have been at uni what issues could this cause?

Without the battery in, you can`t save any settings in the bios or keep the time and date, every time you turn of the PC. Surprised he never noticed.
