Power Problem?

Today i was playing HL2 and i got major artifacting and eventually a full crash. restarted the PC and its fine now, cant replicate the problem running any game i try ( oblivion, HL2, doom 3, quake 4 )

However when i ran 3DM06 it went fine until the Deep freeze test when i got major artifacts and a hard crash. Tried it several times with the same result.

Reseated the card/reinstalled drivers and it seem to run the deep freeze test ok now but im worried my card may be dying ( ive only had it a week )

CPU and GFX running at stock

My spec is in my sig and my PSU is the 300w unit that came with the case ( asus brand )

Can i assume the PSU isnt up to the job?

Feel sorry for your rig, i would never trust anything over a pentium 4 to a lame psu.

What is the sustained current on all the rails on the powersupply?

You might also try monitoring the 12v during load. If its more the 5% from nominal its officially not up to it.

Probably, but run 3dmark06 and keep an eye on temps just in case (via nvidia monitor or something like that).

Hmm well i used one of the online PSU calculair and im coming out at about 260w so im probably just at the PSUs limit.

Im in need of a new case as well so im going to get one of the antec pianos with a decent 450w PSU that comes with it.
