Power problem

I'm just reconnecting my cables after sleeving them, and my issue is that when I connect the 8 pin EPS cable or the second 6 pin PCI-e cable, all power seems to be lost.
Without them connected, I can get power to the optical drive, pump and leds by using the PSU 'hotwire trick' but once connected - nothing.

It shouldn't matter which wires connect to which pin housing on the connectors, as long as it doesn't go +12v to Ground etc?

My PSU is a Seasonic X-750 if that helps.

one of your wires isnt right by the sounds of it buddy.

as long as the ground go to a ground, and a 12v goes to a 12v it should be right though.
