Power problems GPU/PSU

In need of some advice. My 1080TI PCI light has come on with a red light and fans have gone mad. This is the 2nd time it's come on. I've checked all the cables and plugs. The GPU is coming on for 7 years and my power supply is over 8 years old. It's a Corsair Rm850x. Could this be a GPU or power supply problem?

It could be either but I would be leaning more towards the GPU. I don't suppose you have access to a second pc that you could test the GPU in?

I've checked all the cables and plugs.

If you have some spare in your PSU box, then I'd try them.

Does your pc have onboard graphics if yes take out the GPU and see if the onboard works ?

You signature says you have a 2080ti and a 12900k ?
