Going to try this section for an answer..my pc keeps going into power save mode..systems about 2 years old,was a bundle from OcUK..i7 950 geforce gtx 480....i thought originaly it was down to the gpu getting to hot but recently it goes to power save mode from a cold boot up,sometimes taking me 4-6 resets to get into windows...so ruled out overheating..i dont know where start looking and dont want to buy new gear if its not the problem,i dont have spare parts to swap over to try either...does it sound likely to be the graphics card?..hope you can help..cheers q

I had a similar issue with my old 8800gts, the card cooked itself and kept switching off or putting the computer to sleep.

Open the case feel the card heatsink as it boots up does it feel like you could cook an egg on it, check the cables are all ok and secure. Maybe even reattach them. Have you seen any blue screens indicating a problem with nv4 or similar?

Maybe try it with another pc ask a friend to swap it over for you.

I spent ages rma'ing in a mb with ocuk only to find the ram had died! Other than that the psu could not be supplying enough power as its on the way out. Maybe even try a different power lead to both the computer and into your houshold plug. Or a different plug socket in your house. Try these things and let us know.
