Hi all,
I just added a Samsung ecoGreen 1.5TB HD to my rig and ever since I've been getting BSODs in Vista x64 with a "Power state driver failure" message. I had thought it was down to a loose SATA power connector but I've swapped cables (it's a modular PSU) and it still happens. I now wonder if it's a power issue but it seems to happen when the PC isn't under much load so I don't know about that. I'd have thought that if adding one hard drive was going to tip the PSU over the edge then loading the system by playing a game before the new drive came along would have also done the same. What do you think?
Spec:
Seasonic M-500w PSU
Intel e8400 o/c'ed to 3.6GHz
Abit IP35 Pro
4GB Geil RAM
Gainward 8800GT OC
Creative Labs SB X-fi
DVD writer
Happauge TV PCI card
2 x Hitachi Deskstar 250GB HD
1 x Hitachi Deskstar 750GB HD
1 x Samsung 1.5TB EcoGreen HD <-- new
