Bought an old car last week as a cheap emergency runaround and it had a PAS leak and I found it was coming from the PAS pressure switch so is an easy swap out which I'll do.
However, I noticed that the switch wasn't even connected as the wire going from that pressure switch to the car's "brain" looks like it has been deliberately cut as opposed to being stretched and snapped accidentally.
I understand that it's used to turn on the EML to let the driver know there is a fault (low PAS pressure) so is it likley it's been deliberately cut to not send this signal and keep the EML off as there was a fault?
Previous owner or their mechanic cutting corners perhaps?
I check fluids regularly so with this switch not being connected, in reality would it be much of an issue without it actually connected?
