My psu has recently become an issue. Basically it can't keep a stable vcore (im pretty sure its either the psu or the board itself). Anyway i need to invest in a new psu. My rig is a 3800x2(939), a 7600gs, 1gb ram a few drives and tons of fans. I'd like the psu to have a bit of overhead as i may upgrade the gpu this summer.
Basically i've got it down to 3 choices:
OcUK Huntkey 500W PSU - £41.11
Coolermaster RS-450-ACLY Real Power Pro 450W Power Supply - £41.11
Hiper 530W - around £45

Does anyone have any experience with these power supplies? I know 500watts would allow for something like an 8800 as well. I am overclocking too, so stability is key, does anyone have an comments or suggestions?
thanx

Don't buy a Hiper although it's the 580w that keeps blowing up it's still the same company.

If it really must be one of those then i would go for the OCUK/Huntkey although little seems to be known about them. It is very efficient though at around 85%.

The Coolermaster does'nt seem too good. Definately not very efficient at only around 75%.

Just remember that the psu is probably the most important single component of a pc and that you should'nt skimp on it. You get what you pay for when it comes to psu's. Literally!!

You may as well buy the Huntkey as they're all pretty duff. Coolermaster own Hiper, so what's the betting they're all made in one factory?

Huntkey are a big chinese manufacturer which is about as much as anyone knows about them.

Personally - I'd go for a lower wattage Tagan, Akasa or Seasonic rather than any of those if you want decent, stable lines.

As PastyMuncher says, it's probably the most important component, so how come you're skimping?

And if your CPU VCore has suddenly gone iffy, it's unlikely to be the PSU as that just provides 3.3V - the VRM circuitry that takes it down to 1.xxxV is on the motherboard, so I'd look there first.

Basically im a student.

My motherboard is an asrock dual-sata939. Has anyone else experienced unstable voltages?

The cheapest place to buy nice stuff is member's market - but you need 250 posts and 3 months membership for access to that. Don't spam, but post regularly and have a browse about in MM as you can get some really decent bargains.
