Don't ya just hate it when u think u have got every thing picked and then u read something that shatters ** plans.

I was going to get the 1000w galaxy but im unsure now i read that is not good. is this true?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good psu then?
Would like it to be quiet (as possible) and powerful for future upgrades

My build is as follows

Asus P5W DH
intel quad core qx6700 with zalman 9700 aero flower
2gb corsair dominator c3 ram (mayb 4gb later)
cheapo x1950 graphics card (until the Dx10's come out then i will get good ones in crossfire)
2x 150gb Raptors in raid 0 (+ possibly 2 500gb hard drives for storage later)
2x DVD rw
floppy
going in Antec 900

Thanks for the advice

As Will_3rd says the Corsair 620w will be easily sufficient for the system currently and would cope with any single graphics card system absolutely fine, Corsair have demonstrated it with quad-core and a dual graphics card setup before so it should be fine regardless but if you definitely want a dual graphics card system in the future I might suggest a PSU with more wattage to begin with. :)

i will be getting 2x Dx10 ATI GPU's when they are available. (knowing my luck tho they wont be compatible with the rest of the stuff i get) but id like a power supply that will last a while yet, which was the main reason i chose the galaxy, but people on here dont seem to like it much?

You'll be waiting a long time for the R600, and they are reported to need 300W each, so that'll be a 1kW PSU for you
Be waiting until around Summer time - June 2007 and thats if they stick to their deadline. I would just get a GTX!

im in no rush for the dual cards really, i have an x800 atm lol
with this build i was gna whack a budget x1950 in there to tide me over and im only gonna get crossfire for the novelty value pretty much,
but i do prefer ati over nvidia and the motherboard i want is the p5w dh (crossfire board)
