Power supply arcing

I have an OCZ modstream 520W, for some reason the socket where you plug the kettle lead in appears to be a bit loose and has started arcing on an off, cutting the power to my PC completely, I've had it for around a year now so I was thinking of investing in a new PSU anyway. I'm after something quiet, reliable and because I'm a cable tidying freak it has to have pre-wrapped cables and be modular. Anyone have any suggestion? Thanks.

I've decided to throw the Modstream away, it's the third replacement since I bought the thing and I've noticed the warranty void stick managed to peel off when I was trying to get it into my case last time. Torn between the Tagan easycon and the 580W Hiper atm.

OcUK uses Tagan in their machines. Quality stuff with maximum compatibilty - Enermax have some compatibility issues with some boards according to one of the OcUK guys on the forums.

Personally, I use a Hiper 580 Type-R and I think it's excellent. People have mixed reviews of them though, some don't work out of the box and need RMAing (including my first). Mine now has never missed a beat and has excellent rails.

how about another 520 Watt modstream, brilliant PSUs, and there very quiet, even my CNPS is louder  and the cables are top notch, as well as the build quality and the layout of the inside. i got mine for a shave over £58 which is not bad value

my advice is go with seasonic (unless modulator is that important to you). Ive never tried tagan to say how good they are, althou they do have many good comments about them.

I used to have a Antec 550w and that was a good psu. Althou ive heard one ot two comments more recently.

ive tried a hiper and it blew up on me (520w) - scared me cos I just built a new pc. What a nightmare it would have been to send a whole pc back to o/c'ers - if the hiper destoried the whole pc.

also Q-Tec stay away from!! No idea why o/c sell them.
