A few days ago my hiper 580W power supply blew up. Lasted pretty well considering the horror stories ive heard. about 2 years i think. Needs replacing but not sure on what do get. Frfom my sig, what would be the best suited for my computer and as cheap as possible because i have little money at the momnet.

Thanks

yeah will be enough for a quad core and ati 4850

cross-fire them and we are talking a different story, do you have a budget.? and we could see about "future-proofing" the power supply section of the computer.

:p

How can i test my motherboard? ive tested the power supply by shorting the 2 pins and its nackered but it will turn the led on my motherboard on but thats it. Unfortuantly i dont have new enough power supply to test with my board as all my other psu's r missing the extra 4 pins.

Looking to spend £50 tops as thats all i can afford at the moment. I will be upgrading to the Corsair HX620W when i can afford to buy it but other things are taking priority with my money at the moment.

Thanks

Only way of testing the motherboard AFAIK is by buying a new PSU.

If the LED switched on just then, then thats an encouraging factor of it working.

For £50, buy the Corsair VX 450W. Or a Coolermaster PSU.
