If you'd be so very kind. Here is the system I'm part way through buying.

Q6600
HD3870 512mb GDDR4
EP43 DS3L Motherboard
2x Western Digital Caviar 320mb HDD's
PC8500 RAM

At the moment I have a Corsair VX450W PSU. But will this be enough for a stable system please?

Thanks.

yup,it will cope with that setup ok.

unless you already have it maybe swap the 8500 for pc6400.

for the price difference any chance you could swap the 3870 for the new 4850 ?

Great thanks mp2. I got the 3870 quite cheap so will see how it goes. I will be using the PC for video editing and digital art. Maybe the 3870 is overkill but the price was good and it might speed things up a little.

I don't have the 8500 yet. Present system has 2gb of P5400.

the pc5400 will be ok for the q6600 at stock, and will overclock it a bit, if you find that you want to overclock it more then maybe look at pc6400.

if you do upgrade the memory save up for something Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX.
