Hi all I'v just ordered new parts for my system which are:

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
HIS ATI Radeon X1900 ICEQ3 SILENT Heatpipe ***Crossfire Edition*** 512MB

Firstly I have just thought, I was intending to use my current PSU to power the system, it is Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU, I know its a bit low but i was thinking of just making do for hte time being. Is this psu compatible with hte board i have just ordered?

Secondly if not what would be a good alternative, for around £50-£70ish as low as possible.

And what do you think of the system i have will have set up?

Thanks for all your input, i know you have alredy being helpfull with all my reading. :)

The Akasa is fine for the moment but you are probably best to steer clear of too much overclocking and certainly don't consider Crossfire just yet. The system looks good but I'd see if you can't fit PC6400 Ram into the budget(not Gskill unless it is HZ or higher).

Proberly be fine on that PSU, though if its 20 pin, you'll need a 20 pin - 24 pin adaptor, which are just a few quid, and also a pci-e - molex convertor for the vid card unless it comes with one.

Cool thanks for that info, I think I have a converter *diggs around in the loft* I wont be using this PSU for crossfire i know it will not handle it what would be best suited for the task? System will be as follows

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4
HIS ATI Radeon X1900 ICEQ3 SILENT Heatpipe ***Crossfire Edition*** 512MB
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Random 130gig ide HD
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 200GB ST3200820A ATA-100 8MB Cache
Sony DWQ28AB2 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Akasa AK FC-03 Fan Controller Pro
various fans and neon

as well as a second graphics card of same specification

Thanks

I think at the moment I'd probably be tempted by a Corsair 620w(which is basically a Seasonic M12), a Seasonic M12 or an Enermax Liberty, any of those that are 600w+ should be easily capable of powering your system including Crossfired graphics.

Like I said though if you can afford it at all go for PC6400 as it will aid you in overclocking. :)

//edit also you shouldn't need an adapter either currently since it is an ATX2.0 compliant PSU.

thanks again guys, well about hte ram already ordered :( but im not into overclocking that much at all, well not yet anyways :D may be pushed tho reading about all the overclocked conroe rigs on the forum just tempts really. also looks like il go for one of the corsair psu's just to finish off the system in the next cuple of months

Cheers
