Hi I have just got hold of a cooler master silent pro 700w power supply http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=4202, as part of a case + psu bundle. I didnt want the case but I got them both for a bargain price...

I'd like to know if it would provide ample or sufficient power for the following setup;

TWO Ati HD 4870 512mb's
Q6600 @ 3GHZ
2GB DDR 1066 ram
two 500gb sata hard drives
two sata dvd rewriters
creative xfi xtreme music

Also I want to ask another question at the same time - is crossfiring a 1gb 4870 with a 512mb 4870 a good idea? will the 1gb card be "slowed down"?

Ok thats all, cheers

PSU will be easily enough. as far as crossfiring a 512 and a 1gb won't you onliy be able to use 512mb of the 1gb card the same as the other 512?

yeah i believe that its bets to use the same : either 2 x 512mb or 2 x 1gb
as the bigger one will be limited to the amount the smaller card has : example is if you use 1 x 1gb and 1 x 512mb - the 1gb will be limited to 512mb so that it will be wasting much of the power it has
