Hi all im a little confused my psu is 550w its got two 12v rails so it says one at 14amps and one at 15amps im just about to put my new graphics card in, how doea the two rails get split ? Do i have to use certain connectors to split the power between the two rails or what ? Or is it two 12v transformers that are joined inside and allow you to pull what u want from any connector ?
Cheers for your help

Depends on the make and model of PSU, but most multiple rails are only "virtual"; they come from a single 12v rail. I'm slightly concerned that you're PSU only has 29 amps on the 12v rail.. That is not a lot for a 550w PSU.

Its a thermaltake tr2 550w its about 4 years old and i have a 480gtx 29 amps its 348watts on the 12v rail and i guess the rest goes to the 5 and 3.3
