This morning I woke up the RCD for all my plug sockets had tripped. I reset the RCD and thought nothing of it, until a couple of hours later when i tried the power up my new PC which I had just finished building the previous night. Disappointingly it would not power up, not even a click.
I did some testing and came to realise my brand new Corsair Tx750 V2 power supply had blown, which i guess had tripped the home RCD.
Now the power supply had only been connected to the mains for about 12 hours, and powered up for 3 of those hours, has anyone else had a previous experience of a power supply failing this quickly?
My real worry is that might the power supply have damaged any of the other components in my machine when it went bang?
I don't have another supply to test my components with until the faulty one is returned from the supplier, so this is really playing on my mind. I would like to think they have some type of surge protection build in to save from any collateral damage, but i am not holding my breath
