Power supply for 1080Ti

I notice the 1080Tis show suggested power supply as 600W, but the OCUK configerators allow you to pair one with a 500W PSU.
Would this be enough?
Would 550W be enough?
Or do they really need the recomended rating supply?

A good quality 550W is fine.

Probably suggests 600W for the rubbish PSUs

I'm using an Antec EDGE 750w PSU for 2 GTX 1080ti o/c to over 2000mhz and a X99 5930K CPU @ 4.4ghz

Yeah you'll be fine, the PC in my signature barely uses more than 300W at load.
