power supply for 1800/1900xt HELP!!!

I'm running a 3.4Ghz Prescott 650 and i wanted to know what the minimum power supply i should have/get if i wish to run a 1800 or 1900XT, I guess the PCI to Molex cable will be bundled in?

my enermax 485 coolergiant is running the spec in my sig fine. no problems or hangups so far. ATI reccomend at least a 450w PSU though and id recomend getting one like an enermax 500-600w to give yourself a bit of breathing room if you decided to upgrade in 1-2yrs time.

the thing with PSUs is that they will last longer than any other upgrade so its always worth spending a bit more to get something a bit more than you need.

:( Just had a nasty thought.. Know i know why dell are not liked.. I had a look at my case (in more detail than had before obviously) it seems the extra cooling slot for the fan and heatsink thats needed for 1800XT's will not fit as i don't have one!!

So i guess i'll have to cancel/change my order argh! Looks like i'll have to get a more expensive Nvidia or a 1600XT..

Anyone confirm this for me??

It'll fit in that space, trust me. It uses two "slots" (on the back) worth of space, so you'll still have room.

Edit: Never mind, I just noticed that whole mobo is upside-down and back to front. It won't work in that case, sorry. :( The airflow will be completely blocked off, stupid Dell.

Sorry i'm crap dealing with hand eye cordination/perception of things lol

From looking at the images of the 1800XT i thought the Heatsink/Fan would be where my current x600 is and there therefore would be no PCIX slot below.. if you get what i'm saying

As my case does not have a PCI case opening left of the heat sink (above in the images..) so the "Exhaust" would have no where to go?

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't notice it at first because I'm so used to seeing graphics cards face-down. Dell have really got to sort themselves out when it comes to using proprietary crap. :(

My prognosis, though, is that you're stuck with single-slot coolers. Not so bad really, but the X1800XT really is stupidly amazing value for money at the moment, and it sucks people have to miss out through no fault of their own.

Yup totally.

It's got a very strange cooling solution and if you were to want to change it in any way it's a new case new motherboard as it's part of both.

Im running my x1900xtx on an antec 430 watt with a 2.7ghz opteron :)

Ah well seems OcUk are a bit quick in sending out the card (even though i asked to cancel it an hour after ordering) so i have to refund it through distance selling (???) anyone have a idea if they charge for this type of refund etc??
