Looking for a new PSU with the 16pin needed for the 4080. It’s been a while since I’ve had to upgrade the PSU so not sure what models are decent anymore.

Rest of my specs are
i7 9700k
32gb ram
2x NVME SAD

But I plan to upgrade to
7800X3D
32GB DDR5

If you already have a decent PSU I wouldn't bother, especially since the dubious warranty situation using the 16 pin instead of the included adapter.

Otherwise:
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £447.97 (includes delivery: £7.99)

I currently have an EVGA 850 GQ but I don't know where my extra cables are so only have 2 8 pin connectors from a single PSU output

Edit: Actually the EVGA was an old PSU, I’m using a Corsair HX850 now. Is it worth ordering the Corsair 12+4 cable for my current PSU rather than replacing?

That's the cable I'm using for my 4090 With a Corsair 750W SFX PSU
There are a few designs Corsair have released, I went for the "Premium Individually Sleeved 12+4pin PCIe Gen 5 12VHPWR 600W cable, Type 4, White" and it works perfectly!!

How old is the HX850 psu that you have? Have you run it continuously for that period?

I would like to point out that Corsair will only honour their warranty with proof of purchase. So if the OP wants to go down that road he will have to contact whoever he bought the HX850 from to see if they still have that. Even if that's possible getting hold of said proof of purchase, Corsair may only deal with the original purchaser because, I dunno if their warranty is transferable.
