hi guys,

got a new mobo, ram and cpu but my psu is quite old too so wondering if anyone can recommend me a decent psu please?

my build is:

Mainboard: ASRock B560 steel legend atx
Processor: Intel i5 11500
Memory: crucial ballistix 3600mhz 16gb (2x8) rgb
Power: Corsair CX600 Modular

many thanks guys

It's hard to ignore the Phanteks Amp 750w at it's current price. It's basically a Seasonic Focus with a different badge. It's gold rated, fully modular, has 744w on it's single 12v rail and has a 10 year warranty. A 750w PSU should cover you for anything up to and including a RTX3080, maybe a 3080ti.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Yeah best get the 750W.

i only have 80 pound at the moment.

i was looking at this one:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265188375744?hash=item3dbe757cc0:g:~CEAAOSwfvNgvjZ4

but not sure how the warranty works on a refurbished psu though

If he’s going to buy new from ocUK, he’s either going to have to increase his budget or settle for a bronze PSU. I’d definitely recommend 750W though bronze or otherwise.

This is about as good as you'll get for 80 notes.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £89.45 (includes shipping: £10.50)

i dont plan on gaming soon though

so i was thinking maybe get a 650w? can i get away with using a 650w?

If you are getting a high end graphics card and/or going to use the system a lot I think gold PSUs are going to pay for themselves in increased efficiency/decreased electricity costs plus also the mostly come with longer warranties. I'm happy with my Corsaire TX650 which should cover any GPU I'm likely to run. Plus being semi modular helps with cable management
