Hi Guys

I have a little NL40 microserver which has a defective power supply. I can run it up ok with a standard power supply, but does anyone know where I can get a proper replacement one from?

When I priced up the replacement cost for the PSU in a client's Microserver it was actually cheaper to buy a complete new server. It also bumped them up from a NL36 to a NL40 and gave them a new 12 month warranty.

The PSU is a fairly standard size that's often used in 1U servers. I could probably have found a suitable one, but it was billable time so it wasn't worth it.

Yes, I am doing the same for my friend, but it is a shame to throw it away, just because of the power supply. There are some cheap recon ones for Shuttles on the bay, so will try one of those, they are the correct measurements and output, but the cables may need extending. thanks again for the info.

Got a replacement drive for a Shuttle, it is maybe 3mm wider than the original, however will fit with a bit of determination. It also needed a 20 to 24 way adapter cable, mainly to increase the length to fit. All done and fitted and machine is back up and running. Supply cost £15.99. That said still agree with Bremen, for customer, much better to replace with a new one, got the warranty, a processor bump over the NL40 from 1500 to 2200 GHz and only £85 more than a second hand power supply. Still pleased that I got it going again though. Thanks for the advice.

Check the cashback offers available at the moment, sub £100 for the new Microserver is probably cheaper than a direct relpacement from HP.
