power supply gone?

silly question, but earlier today pc went bang with a flash and temp knocked out the electrics for the room. There was then a burnin/burnt smell.

try to turn it back on, but nope

the power supply was one of the hiper type R models, remember readin abit about these messin up, but would this ave done any damage to the other components ? also what are the warrentys like for these ?

any help

Have you got a spare psu to test the parts on??
Or can you get hold of one??

Don't switch it back on for ***** sake, Unplug it & move it away from the system & Pray your Mobo isn't fried as well.
Order a new PSU that is recommended on here & return the other one under warranty.

yeah more than likely its the psu, just pray its not taken anything else with it.! when you can....get a new psu and make sure thats the only thing that blew.

don't have a spare one unfortunately

was purchased jus over a year ago,will have to fish around for the box later, do these things have a long warrenty or it just tough luck?

erm just give Hiper a call and see if they could send a replacement.?

3 year warranty and they should be good at sorting it out quick by now. They have had enough practice. Buy yourself a decent psu and sell the replacement Hiper. You have been burnt once. Don't be tempted to try another. I know someone who has been through three blown Hipers. Some of us have been unlucky to have had other components taken out by exploding Hipers. Hopefully you have been lucky.
