Power Supply - Help

Hi Guys

Going to be building a system with the following spec:

EVGA 680 SLI
Intel E6600
OCZ XTC 2Gb DDR2 6400
EVGA 8800GTX 768Mb (buying elsewhere though so cannot step up :( )
2x SATA WD RE 160Gb 7200rpm 16mb (RAID0)
*Both of the above in internal Icy Box enclosures*
1x Seagage SATA 80Gb
NEC 16x DVD burner
Samsung 52x CD burner
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream
Dell 2407WFP A03 24" HDCP Display



So my questions would be...

a) Is there a decent PSU that would happily power the above system + a couple of cathode lights and USB devices for around £100

b) will the 8800GTX fit if i remove the HDD bay of my Tsunami dream

c) any improvements to choices of components?

Edit: i will be overclocking the GFX and the CPU

I would recommend this: Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK) @£99.86 on OcUK. Don't think you can better that for the money :)

Don't think so, looks to be a top spec :D

One thing I would suggest is that you remove the competitor from your post- that auction site is actually a competitor in this context as outlined here .

I was looking at the OCZ OCZ GameXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 but thought i'd check with people in the know.

Will a 620w PSU power this rig, overclocked, under constant full load happily enough 24/7?
 
I would say so yes- the Corsair PSUs are basically rebadged Seasonic PSUs (Which are also great) but slightly better :) As thefishdude said though, if you wish to go SLi you may need to get something more beefier in the watts department but I can't see SLi being needed anytime soon with that system :D
 
Ok

I did also notice the FSP Sparkle one for £105 but assume if this was better than the corsair one then it would have already been mentioned.

If you all are confident that 620w is more than enough for said rig, then i shall add that to my spec list :)
 
Nah, Corsair > FSP :) The 620W Corasir will be fine for that top notch system- will be very nice when it's built :D

EDIT: You need to read the rules on signatures- yours is too big :)
 
Yes, it will be fine- you just use the Win XP Pro drivers as that's all Media Centre is- XP Pro withought the ability to join a domain and the media centre thingy added in. Don't put media centre on for the sake of it though but on the other hand if all this machine is going to be doing is a Media Centre rig then it's way, way over-specced for the task :)
