Power supply issue

I received a pc back from a customer with a power supply issue. I swapped the power supply with a known working one from a different machine. The customer called again with the same issue.

What might be the cause of the power supply failing? When I swapped the power supplies the pc was working perfectly in my office.

Would a power spike be the cause of the power supply failing? the first failed power supply was a corsair cx600 and the second was a Lepa-n series 600w.

Any help appreciated.

could do, idea being the psu (if its a decent one, as yours seem to be) kills itself before the system gets fried.

are they at locations that are likely to have power issues ?

any chance they have a surge protector they could put inline to see if that detects issues.

Thanks for your reply, there are a number of other devices running power in the same location that are working perfectly. There is no surge protector as far as i'm aware.

Would there be any benefit to running the pc with a UPS on it?
