Do power supply's have a general shelf life? I bought one off an Auction site a used Tagan 900W TG900 U33 non modular. Won it delivered for £32. Plugged it into my Antec tester and it shows green across the board so it's good to fit.

I am unsure how old it is? anyone familiar with this PSU, is it any good?

I have a GTX 470, FM2 board with an A10 5800K cpu, 1 dvd 1 HD and 1 SSD. 1 case fan on the go and a Corsair H60.

I take it it should run all that ok?

Thanks.

Personally, I would have purchased a small 400/450w off OcUK for a few quid more. While the tester is showing the circuitry is working, it cannot tell you the build quality and voltage protection system it does/doesn't have in place.

I did some googling on Tagan, never heard of it before.

It seems Nvidia has used one of their PSU's on their quad sli testing according to hardwarecanucs, and I can't find any overly negative reviews of any of their high-power PSU's either.

That said, they are not the best either, but I doubt its gonna blow up on you or anything like that. Don't take my word for it though, I do prefer high quality stuff when it comes to expensive hardware. Yours is a bit oldie.

It's an old model, possibly 5 or 6 years old. Having said that, your hardware is hardly going to push it's limits so it should be fine

Ok, thanks Folks. Looks like I got a bargain then, as previously mentioned I don't have a high end rig so no excess voltage to worry about!

Thanks for the review link Pastymuncher.
