Power supply pci-e pin question

Hi all, sorry if this is a silly question but I am about to buy a 780ti to replace my 670 and need a 6 pin and 8 pin connector. At the moment i am only using two 6 pins. My problem is that im not too sure that I have any 8 pins. They are all 6 pin connectors but have a 2 pin connector attached to them. Is it just as simple as using the extra two pins to make the 8? Again sorry if this is silly but I need to make sure. Psu is corsair gs 800.

Thats correct, the extra 2 pins just sit to one side when only using the 6 pins, for 8 just join these with the 6

6+2 is the most common way of having an 8-pin connector, no worries
