ok bare with me please
recently i went to a police auction where there was a lot being sold as a sooter, now having seen that the boxes were still sealed dell boxes i knew this would be worth a shot and managed to pic my self up a brand new pc for 90 quid. reasonable spec etc etc however when i plugged it in (after sorting out the wifes cabling errors) i switched on the monitootr and it came on fine hwever the tower unit made a loud popping sound and nothing happened. tried changing the fuse in the plug and still the same loud pop.
i spoke to pcworld who told me they wanted 70 pouds just to look , 40 for a new power supply which is what they think is wrong and 30 to fit it, and thats if there is nothing else wrong.
anyone offer some sensible advice on this one please
