I recently had a new Corsair CX 430.

When I was unplugging cables from the back of my PC (PC Was turned off) I noticed a sequel like sound coming from what I think was the PSU.

I'm not to bothered by it at all, just wanted to know if it's normal for PSU's to do this when the pc is idle?

Cheers

no its not normal. u sometimes get a click when it powers down but thats about it

the cx 430 is notorious for the whine

It does only happen when the pc has powered down, a whining noise would be accurate to describe it. Kinda changes pitch a lot.

So it is normal?

So does anyone know if this is normal for the PSU to still be making a noise even when the PC is totally powered off?

Cheers

I have taken a look at the Corsair forums and seen some other people are having the same issue. I really can't be without a PSU though as that'd mean I'd have no PC to use.

Not sure what to do...

I notice the CX430 is now out of stock so I'd struggle get a replacement anyway.

Which others would you guys suggest for around £40 region?

Thanks

I'd go for that one, would appreciate any opinions on weather it's a good choice or not though.

Don't want another that's going to scream when the PC is turned off or go bang on me after a months use!

Cheers

Mine has aleays done this I have to turn the switch on the PSU off such a pain! A terrible and defective PSU from the off Id argue. Wont be buying corsair again needless to say.
