Power supply suffocating?

Hi people,

I was wondering, does this look like the power supply doesnt have enough room to breath properly. The pwer supply is the only thing making any noise at the momnet and im wondering if its gettin more noisy because the CPU fan and metal back plate are stopping the air flow correctly.

I should be able to remove the metal plate that is sitting above the case fans if needed.

It does look rather cramped but that doesn't automatically mean it should be noisier, it is probably because it is so close to the heatsink on the CPU though which means it has more heat to dissipate so in a slightly roundabout way yes the lack of airflow is likely to be causing at least some of the noise.

cool, thanks. I thought that the extra heat form the heat sink might be causing the PSU to work harder as it is getting warmer.

wouldnt the closnes of other objects to it also have an effect on the air flow?
