Hi guys. Looking for the best power supply under £60 please. Cheaper the better but wanting a good one.

Any good recommendations please? This will be used in a gaming rig. 4790K, A few SSD's and a 980 GTX

The XFX XT 600w is about the only psu that I am comfortable about recommending that is under your budget and even then it's just a budget unit which is nothing special. It's designed by Seasonic but built by a third party chinese oem, it is bronze rated and has a single 12v rail of 576w and a 3 year warranty.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Better would be the Superflower Golden Green HX550w but thats another tenner on top of your budget. This is gold rated, has a single 12v rail of 546w and a 5 year warranty.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

If you want modular then you are going to have to increase your budget significantly

Hey thank you for your input. PSU's seemed to have increased in price quite a lot since i last purchased once.

I'm guessing upping the budget to £80 wont change much? In regards to my gaming build. What will the Super flower psu offer over the XFX one please? I'm guessing it wont hinder frames rates or smoothness of the frames please?

The Superflower is more efficient, gold rated compared to the XFX being bronze rated. The Superflower will be a better built unit with better quality internals and two years extra warranty.

Increasing to £80 would get you a Bitfenix Whisper M 550w which is a excellent psu that is gold rated and fully modular with triple 12v rails with the full 550w available across them. Each rail powers it's own group of components so rail 1 power the Motherboard + Peripherals, rail 2 the CPU and rail 3 the GPU. It also has a very quiet fan and a 7 year warranty. The downside is that it has a large 24 pin plug and it's out of stock here at the moment. Review here.

A small increase to £85 get's you the Bitfenix Whisper M 650w, the EVGA Supernova GS 550w or the XFX XTR 550w. All are fully modular and gold rated. The Bitfenix is just a larger capacity version of the above and has the full 650w available across quad 12v rail. The extra rail is another GPU rail. The EVGA Supernova GS 550w has a single 12v rail of 540w and a 5 year warranty. Review here. The XFX XTR 550w also has a single 540w 12v rail and a 5 year warranty. Review here.

Yeah I was happy with that. It ended up been a little more with postage as he's away bit still a good buy. Excited to get her up and running!
