i.ve just purchased a P530W-PFC-TAURX-C but can,t find any info on it.tried website.bieng a noobiei, wanted to check it had a pcie connecter on it. it has sata connecters but not sure of what i,m looking for as a pcie connecter.the female assistant who sold it to me said she thinks it has.don,t want to install it if i have to take it back,tia::confused:

A PCI-E connector is a small connector of 2x3 pins, usually black. From what I can see on a quick search it looks like it might be ATX 2.0 compliant but it also looks cheap and nasty I'm afraid.

yes it was, about 30pounds,their is a black connecter that looks like the one in thepicture but it doesn,t have that small adapter fixed to the side of it

If it looks like the one above (but without the extra 2x Pin hanging off it), then thats the 6x Pin PCI-E, the extra 2x Pin hanging off there in the above pic is nothing to worry about, thats just to turn the 6x Pin into an 8x Pin which the old 2900's could use. :)

:) thanks .that sets my mind at rest.i.ve built systems a few years ago, before pcie, i,m building a new one now, but with x2 processor and pcie i,m a bit wary.by the way i,m planning on getting a radeon hd3870 are you saying the 6pin connector won,t be any good?

The 6 pin plug is what you need:

ATI-Sapphire Radeon HD3870, PCI-e 2.0, CrossFire Ready, HDCP, 512MB GDDR4, 2 x DVI, DVI-HDMI Adapter
* 450Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended.

The extra two pin plug in the pic is just used for those few cards that require it.
