ok? ... so i've got one guy telling me that 650W should be enough because as proven, it states on the ATI 5850 website that it only takes 151W max and another guy telling me that infact this is wrong because after being tested it was found that the power usage is infact double that + it goes up to 550W if there are 2 Xfired?
i'm confused on what to go with
you shouldn't be, it was cleary stated in that link that the 550w figure printed was the total load for the entire system including two 5870's in crossfire, not just the cards as ben_irvine said.. Who are you going to believe, Ati or somebody who misread a review?

1x 5850 : 315watts for the entire system.
never mind ... ended up going with the 750W just to make sure my whole pc doesnt crash if i decide to oc and xfire my computer later down the line
that;s fine. with a 750w psu you'll be able to put at least 3 5870's in there and still have room to spare.
