Power Supply650W too little for system?

i just bought all the components for my 2 year upgrade.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Hitachi Deskstar 1TB
Asus Maximus II Formula mobo
Corsair Memory 4GB
512MB Sapphire HD4870

now that should be ok but the case, a Cooler Master Cosmos 1000, has 4 120" fans as well.

so considered opinion is 650W too small?

650w is more than enough for your system and more.

Hello MrEd, a good quality 500 wattage power supply unit would be absolutely fine for your system.

what power supply is it? if it's a reliable brand like Enermax, PCP&P, seasonic or corsair, 650 watts should be more than enough.

if it's a cheap-crappy-PSU, then no, it won't.
(a 650watt PSU should cost no less than £60)

What make is the PSU your currently using, like Fire Wizard mentions a good brand 520w psu would fine ie Corsair.
