Could a Mod tweak the title please to 'Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice' please, as I've seen to have lost a bit of it.:o

EDIT: Thank you.:)

So the products in the OP are those that you'd recommend (at various price points).
I was in screwfix yesterday and they had some makita/dewalt things on special offer, with 2 batteries but i can't remember exactly which models they were. Around about £140-180

Not all, a lot are what have been recommended by others in numerous threads, so I thought it easier to have them located in one place, rather thread after thread appearing, 'Spec me a cordless drill', or 'Recommend a corded drill' & have to continually link to same items each time.

For an extra £40 I would get one of these Bosch multi tools instead. Its a detail sander, plus loads of other uses. It's one of them tools you wonder how you managed without one.

Good advice Mark.

I have a Bosch GOP250CE, brilliant tool, as 1001 uses, sand, cut, scrape, etc the list is endless, everyone should have one in their tool box.

Best blades I found are Saxton Blades.

I reckon you have the old model.

Take your battery to B&Q, & ask the staff to allow you to try it in the new range, I think it will fit ok.

As to the Bosch multi tool, they do a cordless version as well.

It's naked.

Just the bare unit, no battery or charger.

Bosch green range.

Need to do your research, about it, as I have used their cordless green diy range, one negative point, some people complain cordless battery lasts about 20-30 minutes, sometimes less depending what your cutting.

The mains version is far superior.

But, things change when you move up to Bosch Blue trade tools, the Bosch GOP18VECLi 18V is brilliant, use same battery as their drills, it's not cheap, again you can buy it naked, search you can find good deals.

There is also another Bosch cordless multitool, the GOP 10.8VLI 10.8v Li-Ion, it's a lower spec model.
.........................................................................................................

Folkestone Fixings have the Bosch GOP250CEC2 for £104.94 post free.

Just bought a Bosch blue 10.8v drill/driver and multitool. Loving them so far. You can get the drill for £71 inc charger and the new 2.0Ah battery from ffx.co.uk at the moment. Lots of power from such a little thing. Appears to be very well made too.

Bosch also do the GRO10.8V-LIN, basically a rotary tool like a Dremel, available naked around £75 or less or as a kit.

The Green range is for diy users, lighter use, most tools come with two year warranty, very good tools for the money, whereas the Blue range is trade, tools have 3 year warranty, & rated for heavier use.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and it came in very useful when my shed roof blew off.

Looks good, nice holdall, how do you find it when using it.

Makita is getting sneaky, was in Screwfix, & another tool shop today, I noticed they have different cordless 18v batteries, the cheaper drill batteries don't fit their LXT tool range.:(

You need to be careful with Makita, some of the light duty drills use a different battery to the heavy duty drill.
You need to make sure it's the LXT range of cordless tools your buying, as the batteries from the LXT will fit over 70 other Makita LXT tools.

Agree with mark, Makita need to change the colour of their light duty drills to stop the confusion.

And they now bought out a 4 amp 18v LXT battery now.

Intresting collection you have there.

How do you find that tiddly Bosch screwdriver, there are times when I could use a compact screwdriver.

Does that oscillating multi tool attachment work ok on the Ryobi?
