Hey,

well I Have a:

Intel quad q6600
Ati 4870
500gb hard drive
blu-ray player
4x1gb RAM

and a

650 watt PSU

and i would like to know is the PSU powerfully enough to run all that, or is there a chance of over kill??

well my flatmate has a 580watt psu on this rig

My rig: q6600 2.4ghz (g0 step)
p5n32-e sli plus (EDIT: 'nForce 650i SLI SPP chipset')
4gb 800mhz ram
8800gts (g92) 512mb
580w hiper psu
Arctic Freezer 7 cooler w/ Antec 900

so i see no problem with your setup and the psu

You would get away with a 520w PSU, 650W Quality PSU ie Corsair, Enermax will be fine with room for expansion.

Your psu is more than enough. The rig in my siggy plus a pair of sata ll hdd's, sata dvdrw, multifunction controller and 5x 120mm fans draws 274w at the wall while running orthos and fur stability test at the same time.

easy, my 600 runs mine ok, although i have a less powerful card, but then i had a corsair 450 in before that (which had a power fault for almost a year before dying)
