So I dug out an old PowerBook G4 ~15" from the attic.

Firstly how do I go about doing a factory restore without any discs? I tried the command-S thing, then typing /sbin/fsck -y at the prompt, but that didn't work. It says no such file or directory exists.

Secondly, is there any value to this? I saw on eBay that sometimes they don't sell, even for £20, but there are a couple of examples of them selling for £50, £95 and even one at £156 (lots of stuff all in this package though), all in this month! The keyboard is a bit wonky and warped, and I would say overall it is in about 3/10 condition.

I was thinking just removing the hard drive for security and then binning it at the recycling centre.

bang it on ebay, try your luck, even if you make a fiver.
usually its people after the parts. so Screen/HD/memory etc. just so they can recover something off there old PB.

In the battery compartment, it says its specs are 400 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 10 GB HDD. Someone must be really desperate for parts if they are going to buy this junk for spares.

Too much work to get this packaged up even. See if anyone on gumtree wants it as a fre pickup and if not, off to recycling.
