Hi Guys,
I have a 12" Powerbook and I have just swapped the 60GB HD for a 100GB HD from a pc laptop. The 100GB still has windows installed and I wanted to wipe it and install OSX.
When I put my tiger install disc in and try to install OSX, it doesn't detect the new hard disc at all. It provides no options for where to install OSX.
If I click start up disc in the installer menu it offers to boot from cd or network.
I have reset the PRAM but that didn't help.
It does the same with my Jaguar disc too.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm going to dismantle it again later to check connections but before I do I wondered if there was something I was missing?
Thanks.

Hold C while the Computer is starting up with the osx disk in it, then select disk utility from the installer menu and format the hard-drive, make sure its the correct format and see if that works :)

Brilliant! I didn't see the disk utility window!
Thanks for the help guys, I haven't done this before!

Another quick question, which file structure should I choose? Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
