Powercfg

powercfg /change scheme /standby-timeout-dc minutes

For example, if you use the /list parameter, the following default schemes appear:
Max Battery
Minimal Power Management
Always On
Presentation
Portable/Laptop
Home/Office

Hi ns400r, thanks for that.

So -

powercfg /change Server Balanced Processor Power and Performance /standby-timeout-dc 30 (this should be ac for mains though right?)

should work ?

Apparantly not :( any ideas if anything is missing ?

edit - nm, ran powercfg /availablesleepstates and was told the nvidia drivers weren't able to use sleep mode. Installed new drivers and the option to sleep appeared in the poweroptions menu in control panel :o

Many thanks for the perserverence though :)
