Hi gents. Im about to pull the trigger on one of these 390's but the PCS+ just went on sale and is $45 us cheaper atm. My gut tells me the Nitro is a better card but is it worth the now fairly massive price difference?

I dont necessarily mind paying more for a better quality product but 45 is a pretty large gap. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I have the PCS+ 390
Its on par with the Sapphire. The heatsink is really good on it.
The only drawback is that the factory fan profile is too aggressive(for me). It cranks the fans to about 60% and keeps the card around 66-67C.
I've set a fan profile in MSI AB, to 46% max ( i find its tone the best at this speed), now its quiet, and still not going above 70C ever.

They both have 2 year warranty and the price gap is massive. I'd go for the Powercolor. The Nitro is a slightly better cooler but the Powercolor is very close and can run cooler due to the faster fan profile. It's better than an Asus cooler in any case and look at the prices on those.

Had Powerolor cards myself (years ago), and never had any problems with them, why pay the extra for the Sapphire when the Powercolors just as good.

i would pick the sapphire, never been let down by their vapor cards, always been the best reliable cards iv had, and can't say the same for powercolor sadly

I have 290 PCS+ and thing is a beast.....:D plus you get a free game with the powercolor card which you could sell if you have it making it cheaper......

both are awesome cards.......but with that price difference.....get the powercolor :) if it was a 10 pounds; then I'd say its a toss.......but not that much difference......:)

Ya I just think I can not ignore that price difference. As much as I was set on getting the nitro most stuff I have read says the pcs+ and the nitro are the ones to get.

Unfortunately it doesnt look like I get a game with it but thats ok I guess none of them do atm. Thanks for the feed back. Ill wait a bit to see if anyone chimes in but dont wanna wait to long the last time it was on sale it sold out.

I've got a power colour 390 and its epic real quality card feels very nice when you pick it up and the coolers good the only thing you have to do is use a custom fan profile and its well quiet.

Literally just grabbed the sapphire 390 myself. I'm sure you'll have some fun with the PCS though! ;)

Ya thanks and grats on yours as well. I almost got that one but that price difference was to great for my cheap self.

I have to say its built really, really well and running really cool and quiet but I have not had the chance to put it through the paces yet with work and holiday stuff this week.

Mtom that fan profile is working really well so far. I am trying to get over seeing the idle temp warmer than usual then I remember the fans are not even spinning and its so far staying under 40 c while just putting around the desktop.

Thanks for everyones help I really think this card is going to work out well.

PowerColor is as good as Sapphire from my experience (& every review read), the only bad thing about it is when doing warranty, but then Sapphire is no better so..

Imo the only reason to pay extra for a 390 is when going for better CS (i.e. MSI). Else they all perform much the same.
