Powercolor 4890 Issues/Questions

I recently bought a Powercolor 4890 along with an E5300, 4GB Kingston HyperX PC28500 and a Gigabyte EP43-UD3L.

I ran 3DMark05 at its default settings with the CPU overclocked to 3.2GHz and GPU stock and got about 19500. Is this about right for my system? I've seen some reviews of the card where it gets over 28000 in 05. However these are with i7s clocked to 3.8GHz so is my lower score purely down to my CPU?

When I check my ATi drivers it lists my card as a 4800 series card instead of saying 4890 like it should; is there some sort of driver issue there?

Any help appreciated

I may be wrong here but isn't 3DMark hugely CPU dependant? Can anyone confirm this?

Driver wise, which did you last install? can't remember if mine says 4800 or 4890 but I would guess it should say 4800 series. For peace of mind, run the ATI driver uninstall thing from the add/remove programs untility, reboot, install the newest 4890 drivers and reboot again, should be fine then.

Are you having any issues in games?

No issues in games but I haven't had a chance to properly test the card yet, save running HL2: Episode 1 maxed out at 1680*1050.

I've noticed that in CPU-Z the GPU core clock switches from 850 to 500 for some reason? Is this the card clocking itself back when it's not in use?
