Two bundled games worth £45, core clock pushed up by over 10% (I imagine the performance gains are about the same), a very nice cooling solution that would presumably cost about £35 on its own, all that for £30 extra over the 'normal' price.

It's a good deal I have to say but the current prices of the standard 5870s should drop down to £280 tops.

i wonder if the card has any overclocking potential considering that cant change the voltage. So annoying that they put all this awesome cooling and disable the voltage modify.

Fatboy, any news on the Asus V2? :P

With the whole Volcano thing it has put a bit of pox on delivery I am afraid. Will update you when I know more. Sorry can not be any more specific I am afraid but we have a backlog of stock awaiting flights.

One screen!!!.

But i run every game at MAX, AA / AF included. And i love having major fps :)

Oh cool, so you run them on 1 monitor. what size and res mate ?
So having them 3 cards allows you to run AA/AF Max then, as long as the game support trifire ?.:D they will last you ages.

I played bfc2 on a asus 5870 on my brothers system,
(as i got no card for mine, still waiting for my Point Of View 480 card,
Was going to get the 5970. but i'll see how this performance on my 28" @ 1920x1200)

if i put that HSAO on, the frames would still be playable, but you could see it wasn't as smooth as when it was off, thats with v.sync on or off.
i take it you have this on ;)

Not played bc2 in ages, due to the wait of the card :(
I got withdrawal symptoms :D

Its a 37" hdtv with res 1920x1080. With bfbc2 running i get 200fps is many areas... (wont go anymore! think the game caps it lol) and thats with full settings.. and i mean everything :)

I do have three additional monitors and have tried eyefinity but wasn't really a fan, the fov looks kinda strange and the bezels annoy me :D

200fps, Far out :D
Don't the tearing bother you ? i have to have the v.sync on, as tearing doe's me head in

did you edit you're fov in the config ? if so, what do you have it set at ?

also, could you put v.sync on, and tell me how it runs with you're setup:cool:

Cheers :)

tearing is very minimal but i can put up with it.

vsync does what it says on the tin!. REALLLLLLY smooth, and capped at 60fps, obviously NEVER drops below that, as it rarely drops below 100fps as it is with vsync off (And thats a 32 player war on bfbc2..)

Fov is default, also.

Cool.
Manage to get any more pics ;)
What PSU you running these on ?
Why didn't you get the 5850 (and over clock it) to go with the 5970 ? :D
Or can't that be done.

Not last night, ended up working late!! :(

Shall get you some tonight i promise haha.

I couldnt be arsed with the overclocking so just went with the 5870, the new xfire can run the cards at different speeds, so my 5870 and 5970 are both stock.

Oh and my PSU is an akasa 1000w psu.
