Hello folks
I recently upgraded my machine, well wouldnt say its a major upgrade just the graphics card. Got my card form OCUk last week and ive installed it but it doesnt post :-S

I have a A8N32-SLI Deluxe mobo (latest bios), currently running a radeon x1900 XT which works fine. My PSU is a hiper 580w Type R (yes i heard they blow up). Now i dont know what could be the issue, whether its the mobo or the psu. And i havent done anything stupid like not connect the power to the gcard.

Oh and this card has been tried on my bros i7 setup and it posts fine which suggests it works...

would appreciate some advice

thanks :-)

Are you using a proper 6-pin PCI-E power connector or using a molex adapter ? What (if any) beeps do you get when you turn on the computer ?

This card takes the 4 PIN PCI-E (its the same one that was powering my x1900, coming straight from the PSU) When i boot up i don't hear anything apart from the fans and disk. I don't see any indication that the fan has got power though, they should have made the fan see through or put a power light on it!

Does anyone know the power requirements for this card, there isnt any in the documentation that came with it :-S

That doesn't work either, i googled my motherboard and the card and i didn't see anything specific BUT i did see that someone with the sapphire version of the same card running the same mobo as me, so it points to psu...now only thing is i dont have a "spare" psu...hmmm my bro has left his pc alone, 850w crosair staring at me ......

he is still yet to overclock his machine so hasnt fully set it up, ill test the card and boot into windows to make sure...
Not stripping the PSU exactly....

Tried it in the other PCI-E slot and it worked! but its like half an inch above my PSU :-S, not sure why it didnt work in the other slot, my other card did!
