I'm having a problem with my PowerColor X800 GTO 16, when gaming. If I'm playing for over 2 hours or so, then every time the card has a large load, the screen becomes black for a second or two. This happens more often if I'm using higher settings/resolution in the game (fullscreen). Does anyone else have this problem, or can anyone suggest another reason it may happen, and a fix?

Holy huge sigs batman  , only 400x75 or 4 lines of text allowed so you best get that sorted. :)

Whats the temps like ?

What drivers are you using, and have you tried different ones.

Welcome to the forums btw. :D

deffo sounds load related, so overheating maybe? Set a lower res, lower clocks if above stock and try again. If it seems to ease/cure the prob, its probably the hsh not making good mechanical contact. Also like loadsa says, try some different drivers.

Thanks guys,

I used ATITool to find the temps, and they absolutely rocketed after about 15 mins of HL2 with my usual (nice) settings. I'll play lower res for a bit: it always seemed to ease the problem.

The good thing is, as soon as I stop using it, the temperature seems to drop pretty quickly, so a reboot always fixes it.

(Sorry about the sig, I was looking at it 50% when I saved it.)
