Does anyone know if the power connection adapter on the PowerColor X850 XT on offer at £110 + VAT this week needs 1 or 2 of the 4 pin molex's to connect to?
Had a quick look on Powercolor website and I think its one but it is not that clear

Cheers...

Hmm I thought that myself, but in another thread someone has the HIS GTO X800 and it only uses 1 Molex, I was kinda hoping this 850XT might be the same..

The GTO is based on the X800XL so needs less power.

Its called a PCIE Y Cable, doesn't that mean its 2 molexes to 1 PCI-E? Otherwise how is it a Y cable?

This is one I got with my card:

Thats the cable i am using in my pc atm... but i got a cable with 1 molex aswell as this cable :p

I'm a bit bemused, what's the point of that, any old PSU is going to only have a single 12V rail anyway. Surely a graphics card isn't going to overload the wires? I've run TECs off molex cables without problems.

And it's goodnight from me...

From the other picture you sent me I had got my hopes up... Ahh well - where's that bottle of white lighting.....

Weve had an x850 Xt pe running on a Desktop case fitted with a mini 230W psu...and it ran with no problems...So hey, why would they sell it with a Y cable if it wasent designed to use it...also if you remember the 6800 Ultra had TWO molex connectors on it, they said to run one molex connector from two different cables off the psu, but one cable from the psu worked fine...
