powercolour extreme 4870

anyone else bought one of these
i got one over the weekend and to say it is noisy is an understatement.
idling is ok but as soon as it runs under load it kinda grates and then seems to beep. the 'beeping can last 20 - 30 seconds at a time.
i think it is the fan making the noise but it is very annoying.
seeing as it was sold with 'silent cooling' i am very supprised at this.
is this normal for high end cards?
are there any quieter ones out there?
i've sent ocuk a web note about it.

should have got a palit or xpertvision (xpv is a palit just rebranded).. they come with a thirdparty cooler (dual fans)
they are also cheaper not much though ... mine cost £197 with p&p (see sig)
you could get a third party cooler and replace the stock one .... you can always edit the fan speeds

maybe you should nag ocuk to stock the palit cards they are getting good reviews and are the best 4870's avalable
