PowerColour HD 4890 PCS+ problem

Hi,

I just bought the PowerColour HD 4890 and have been having some problems.

It runs great and benchmarks fine but playing games after about 10+ minutes, at somepoint the screen goes and comes back completely artificated, looks like my screen is covered in vaguely translucent shreddies. Runs fine on desktop with no problems, only when graphics are intensive.

First of all I'm running Vista 64 bit and have an 800W very reliable PSU. I've uninstalled all the old Nvidia drivers and PhysX from my old 8800GT and have opened up the case to ensure air flow incase overheating was the problem. I've ensured I have the latest drivers and double checked with driver sweeper for the Nvidia drivers.

Any thoughts or does this sound like an RMA?

Cheers,

Johno

I'd check temperatures with some program whilst gaming.. think 'realtemp' should be able to do that but i dont know much about ati-supporting software

I think it's either the temperature or the PSU as in a friends PC ran fine and I under clocked it with good results. I will try the temp programs and check the log if it crashes again.

Posting for the op, it turns out the problem was his computer's psu, the cooler fan on it wasn't turning. Overheating, melting, everybody lived though.
