Not sure if this is the correct place to post, sorry if not

I’m looking for a powered usb 3 hub with about 4 to 10 ports, I’ve seen lots on the rainforest site but not ones the look aesthetically pleasing are not powered…

I have an old iMac (pre thunderbolt 3 / usb c) running bootcamp windows 10 but it’s only the 4 USB ports and I find myself needing a few more now mainly usb drives and a few arduino boards…

thanks
Stu

I've been using a Startech 4 port hub for a while without any problems. It's a small black rectangular block, so not stunning design-wise; but it is fairly unobtrusive.

I've bought a few for my PC/MAC but this one has been solid more importantly its the only

  • its the only Hub that provides clean power to my DAC so it does not whine like a monkey when power is charging the battery.
  • It also clamps to your desk so you can hide on the back of your desk or front if you want better access

Rainforest:
ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Clamp Adapter, Aluminum 4 Port USB 3.0 Clip-type Aluminum Alloy Portable Size Travel Super Speed Hub Station(MH4PU)

this also works well but not as good as above

UGREEN USB Hub with 1 Metre Long Cable, 4 Ports Ways USB 3.0 Splitter Extension Hub Adapter Compatible with PC, MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini, PS5, PS4, Xbox, Surface Laptop, USB Flash Drive, HDD, Hard Drive

if you need MORE PORTS (just power only)

Anker [Compact 10-Port Charger PowerPort 10 (60W 10-Port USB Charging Hub) for iPhone Xs/Max/XR/X / 8/7 / 6 / Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge and More

we use over 30 of these above on our Data centre racks to power Arduino boards on each shelf

to be honest ive found all the Large USB powered hubs give off pure power control & cause weird issues with interference

Thanks guys for the reply’s, there is just so much choice… I’ll have a look at the suggestions, my real worry is current draw the ones I’ve looked at seem to be around 900mA but to be fair I’ve been actually worked out what I actually need

thanks again Stu
